WEEDS & TALL GRASS

County Ordinances require all weeds, grass, or plants cut, if they exceed ten (10) inches in height for residential and commercially zoned properties with a building.

Vacant lots (no buildings) in residential, commercial, or industrially zoned areas shall not exceed twenty-four (24) inches in height.

Agriculturally zoned, vacant land (no buildings), that is developed and platted for residential lots one (1) acre or less, shall not exceed twenty-four (24) inches.

Section 302.4 Weeds:  All premises and exterior property shall be maintained free from weeds or plant growth in excess of ten (10) inches (254 mm) on residentially or commercially zoned lots with structures, or twenty-four (24) inches (508 mm) on residentially or commercially zoned lots without structures, or on industrially zoned properties that are developed, or on agriculturally zoned properties that are developed and are platted as residential lots having areas of one (1) acre or less.  For purposes of this provision, a property is "developed" if any structure is built on that property or if that property is used for outdoor storage of materials.  This provision applies to all areas of an owner's premises or exterior property, including any areas subject to right-of-way but not occupied by publicly or privately maintained transportation facilities such as curbs, sidewalks and pavement for vehicular travel, so that it shall be the duty of all property owners to maintain all lawns and vegetation up to the curb or edge of pavement within such right-of-way.  However, when any premises and exterior property is occupied by vegetation in a natural state in an area that has not been graded, improved or otherwise maintained previously, the Code Official may waive the height requirements set out above unless doing so would adversely affect health or safety.
